The $10,000 hole-in-one prize is sponsored by SVL, Inc., Nick's final employer in St. Paul, Minnesota. SVL showed amazing compassion and support for Nick the last year of his life. As he became increasing impaired in his position as a sales engineer due to his brain cancer, SVL announced that Nick was an employee of theirs and would continue to be an employee of theirs...and gave him their full support until the day he passed on September 22, 2012. Such dedication, loyalty, and caring shown by an employer to an employee is almost unheard of these days, and will never be forgotten. Nick's family is forever grateful to SVL for their kindness and understanding throughout this most difficult time.
SVL, Inc., is one of the Midwest’s largest commercial heating, ventilating, air-conditioning (HVAC) and cleanroom equipment dealers. They assist owners, architects, engineers and contractors in the engineering, installation, service and parts for commercial HVAC and cleanroom equipment. With offices in Minneapolis, St. Paul and Fargo, SVL services Minnesota, North Dakota and Northwestern Wisconsin. For more information, visit www.svl.com.

"REMEMBERING NICK"
It is often painful for me as a mother to view pictures of the innocence of a beloved child lost before he/she had a chance to experience a promising, loving life here on earth. Nick lost his battle with brain cancer at the age of 31 in 2012. Since then, each spring his family has given scholarships in his name totaling $2,000 per year for two graduating scholar athletes --one boy and one girl --at Altoona High School. The Nick Schlewitz Memorial Foundation was created to continue sponsoring scholarships in Nick’s name and to raise money for charitable purposes for people of need in the Chippewa Valley.
